Systems Administrator - Linux

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our growing team in the fast-paced world of trading. This role is crucial in maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting our high-performance infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise on the server-side, solid Linux fundamentals, and a passing knowledge of networking concepts to support our low-latency trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize Linux-based trading infrastructure, including performance tuning, system-level debugging, and kernel interactions.
  • Deploy, maintain, and monitor high-performance computing systems in on-prem and co-located environments.
  • Support network configurations, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and assist in managing multicast networks.
  • Write and maintain Ansible, python and shell scripts for automation and system configuration or monitoring.
  • Implement system monitoring, log analysis, and performance benchmarking tools.
  • Maintain system security, user access control, and ensure compliance with trading regulations and best practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues quickly in a high-pressure environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Linux Systems Administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux system fundamentals – interacting with the kernel, kernel modules, system processes and configurations.
  • Experience with Linux-related technologies – Bash, SSH, rsync, cron, software-development tools (e.g. make, gcc)
  • Comfortable working directly with server hardware (Power, storage devices, PCI-e, network connectivity, familiarity with a datacenter environment)
  • Intermediate understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, multicast, source-based/policy-based routing,).
  • Familiarity with shell scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with multicast networking in a trading or similar environment, especially Solarflare.
  • Experience with automation and monitoring tools (Nagios, ansible, PXE).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in a high-performance, low-latency environment.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and techniques quickly.

Annual base salary ranges from $125,000 to $200,000, and is influenced by a number of factors, including qualifications and experience. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, of which can be a significant portion of total compensation. This full time role is also eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits including health/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) contributions.

$125,000 - $200,000 USD
