Position Overview
We’re looking for a highly driven BDR Sales Manager to lead the top-of-funnel strategy for our Managed Transportation business. In this role, you’ll build, coach, and manage a high-performing outbound Business Development team responsible for generating qualified meetings with enterprise and mid‑market prospects.
This is a leadership-focused role, not a quota‑carrying sales position. Your success is measured by coaching excellence, pipeline quality, operational integrity, and your team’s contribution to a predictable sales engine.
What You’ll Do
- Recruit, onboard, and ramp a team of BDRs aligned to our Managed Transportation Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs)
- Execute structured 30/60/90 onboarding plans with clear activity and quality benchmarks
- Own daily/weekly activity standards (calls, email volume, LinkedIn outreach, research)
- Run live call coaching, call reviews, and objection‑handling sessions
- Maintain CRM discipline (Salesforce or HubSpot): notes, dispositions, contact mapping
- Operationalize ICP definitions including industries, freight spend, and operational complexity
- Translate strategic messaging into effective BDR talk tracks
- Ensure outreach consistently targets Director‑level and above stakeholders in Transportation, Supply Chain, and Finance
- Continuously refine messaging based on performance data and sales feedback
- Own metrics related to pipeline success, including meetings set, meetings held, ICP alignment, and sales‑accepted opportunities, etc.
- Build and maintain a high-energy, collaborative sales floor culture
What We’re Looking For
- 4–8 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or B2B services
- Experience as a BDR/SDR Manager, Team Lead, or top‑performing BDR promoted into leadership
- Hands‑on outbound experience (list building, cadences, live calling)
- Strong, empathetic coaching skills with a high operational bar
- Preference for in‑office leadership and real-time coaching
