Human Resource Generalist Role Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented remote Human Resources Generalist to support our day-to-day HR operations across our practice. This role will report to the VP of Business Strategy and Operations and will collaborate with all stakeholders in our organization heavily focused on recruiting providers for our practice. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a dynamic fast paced healthcare setting. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily HR support across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with federal and state labor laws.
  • While also supporting HR generalist tasks across the organization, the majority of their role will be focused on recruiting and onboarding  providers and healthcare professionals for SimpliFed’s national network of providers to keep up with our growth in demand.  
  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records in accordance with DOL requirements.
  • Manage job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and onboarding while ensuring compliance with EEO and Workforce Commission standards.
  • Support employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective actions, and coaching aligned with company policies and DOL guidance.
  • Administer benefits and open enrollment processes in compliance with ACA, COBRA, and ERISA.
  • Assist with payroll and timekeeping in accordance with Workforce Commission and DOL wage and hour rules.
  • Prepare HR reports, support audits, and assist in drafting and updating policies, procedures, and required postings.
  • Assist with new provider credentialing documentation and collaborate with the RCM Manager on reviewing carrier contracts and fee schedules.
  • Maintain employee and provider insurance policy records and renewal timelines.
  • Serve as a dependable HR point of contact, ensuring efficient workflows, confidentiality, and coordinated support for clinic management and staff.
  • All other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) while being empathetic and professional with internal/external partners.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace.
  • Experience in start-up environments with the ability to execute, adapt, and problem-solve.
  • Innovative thinker who embraces experimentation and views setbacks as learning opportunities.
  • Values collaboration, diversity, and continuous improvement.

  • Results driven and focused on streamlining processes and removes barriers to make the right thing easy.
  • Strong organization skills to drive multiple, simultaneous credentialing efforts with a high-level of attention to detail.

 

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in healthcare or multi-site operations.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment law, and federal labor regulations (e.g., FLSA, ADA, FMLA).
  • Experience in venture-backed health technology start-ups. This position must have start-up experience. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Ability to work remotely and communicate asynchronously via slack and email, along with thriving in virtual meetings. 
  • Does not suffer in silence: willingness to give it a shot but then reach out for help as needed and not waiting too long.
  • Leans into items they are uncomfortable with, not avoid it.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Aligned with SimpliFed’s mission.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
  • Experience supporting virtual teams or remote staff.
  • Familiarity with labor laws and healthcare/provider recruiting.
