As a Senior Applied Scientist at Nextiva, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge algorithms and models to solve complex problems in the field of communication technology. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of these solutions, contributing to the continuous improvement of our platform. Your expertise will play a crucial role in advancing the state-of-the-art in communication technologies and driving data-driven decision-making. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead the development and implementation of advanced algorithms and models to enhance Nextiva’s communication platform 
• This individual will analyze large amounts of data, discover and solve real world problems and build metrics and business cases around key performance of this program 
• Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and domain experts to ensure seamless integration of solutions 
• Conduct research to push the boundaries of communication technologies and apply findings to practical applications 
• Analyze large datasets to extract insights and inform product development strategies 
• Mentor and guide junior scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning 
• Communicate complex methodologies and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders 
• Stay current with the latest advancements in machine learning, data science, and communication technologies 

 Qualifications: 

• PhD or MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field 
• 10+ years of experience in applied science, data science, or a related role 
• Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn) 
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java 
• Proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning models and algorithms 
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically 
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment 
• Publications in top-tier conferences or journals are a plus
