As the Director of Engineering for Partner Ecosystem & Verticals, you will be instrumental in building resilient, scalable, and high-performance services that deliver best-in-class experiences tailored to industry-specific needs. This role requires a strategic leader with a passion for innovation, deep technical expertise, and a focus on driving success through collaboration with partners and vertical markets. You will oversee a broad range of technology areas to support the creation of vertical-focused solutions, enabling our small business customers to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technology, architecture, engineering, and operations efforts for Nextiva’s Ecosystem and Verticals Cloud, focusing on creating best-in-class solutions for last-mile verticals like Healthcare, Hospitality, and Retail
• Build and manage multiple full-stack engineering teams to create a world-class development organization that drives product innovation in verticals engineering
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and partners to drive hypothesis-driven product development using agile methodologies, with an emphasis on vertical-specific solutions
• Ensure the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable solutions that meet the unique needs of different industry verticals, while enabling ease of integration and extensibility for partners
• Act as a mentor and coach, fostering an inclusive, fun, and supportive environment where team members can thrive and excel
• Stay hands-on with architecture and code quality, ensuring that the solutions delivered by your teams meet the highest standards
• Partner with the leadership team to define success metrics, drive strategic initiatives, and provide thought leadership in verticals engineering
• Represent and embody the Nextiva culture and leadership principles, positively impacting team morale and the work environment.
• Show resilience, a commitment to learning, and a passion for overcoming challenges, while finding inspiration in the successes of others

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on technical management of web-based software solutions, API design, and client-server interactions
• 5+ years of experience coding in languages such as C++, JS, Java, Python, and/or PHP
• Experience with partner ecosystem integration and industry-specific verticals is highly desirable
• Proven experience in collaborating with Product Management and partners to define feature specifications and build innovative, vertical-focused products
• Expertise in full-stack web/mobile application development across a variety of coding languages
• Ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining deep technical involvement
• Subject matter expertise in verticals engineering and partner ecosystem development
• Strong track record of leading teams to deliver complex projects with high business impact
• Excellent collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional engineering initiatives
• Experience in strategic decision-making, particularly in the context of industry-specific solutions
• Proven ability to set and achieve measurable goals while maintaining a high level of quality and performance
• Experience working with leadership to influence organizational design, contribution, and prioritization
