About the Role:
The Banking Analyst is a critical operational role responsible for the end-to-end management of Qualified Settlement Fund (QSF) accounts, ensuring that every transaction, reconciliation, and bank communication is handled with precision and care. Reporting to the Supervisor of Banking and working in close partnership with the Client Services, Operations, and Disbursement teams, this person serves as a key liaison between Simpluris and its banking partners. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented banking or finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, confidentiality, and accountability are non-negotiable.
What You'll Do:
- Manage and perform daily reconciliation of QSF accounts, reviewing and resolving bank-presented exceptions to ensure account accuracy and integrity.
- Coordinate with banks to open and close accounts, draft and respond to bank notices and correspondence, and maintain organized records of all communications.
- Support the Disbursement team by processing wire transfers, bank transfers, and positive pay uploads in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist the Case Closure department with stale fund research and remediation, including coordinating with outside agencies to release funds to the appropriate states via wire or online payment.
- Generate and process critical banking documentation including cancelled check copies, fraud packets, bank statements, and check reissues.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a clerical, payroll, banking, or closely related financial role.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher preferred, with coursework in accounting, payroll, or tax considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion, including direct experience managing or handling company funds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet expedited deadlines accurately.
Bonus Points:
- Background or certification in payroll, accounting, or tax preparation.
- Prior experience working with Qualified Settlement Funds, legal administration, or payment service vendors.
- Familiarity with positive pay systems or bank account management in a multi-matter or multi-client environment.
