We are looking for:
A Director, Product Management who will drive a disciplined, customer and data-driven product management process. This leader will take high-level vision and strategy direction from the founders and CPO and translate it into actionable execution plans for the product management team. This person Director will build a high-performing team of PMs (Product Managers) that can deliver impactful, iterative product enhancements while ensuring alignment with user needs and business objectives.

What will you be doing as a Director, Product Management at SimSpace?

Product Management Process & Execution

  • Establish and lead a structured, data-informed product planning process that ensures the right problems are prioritized and solved for customers.

  • Refine and mature the product management function to focus on customer insights, telemetry, and market validation when defining priorities.

  • Implement best-in-class product management methodologies alongside the SCRUM development model and supporting agile processes without being overly prescriptive.

  • Drive alignment between product and UX, ensuring teams work as one to deeply understand user needs and define clear deliverables for engineering.

  • Define, track, and report on product success metrics, ensuring the team is continuously improving based on data.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Manage and mentor a team of product managers, scaling their impact and effectiveness through focused coaching and process improvements.

  • Partner closely with the Director of UX to ensure product and design work in lockstep on discovery, validation, and execution.

  • Collaborate with Engineering leadership to ensure that product development is scoped realistically and delivers value iteratively.

  • Ensure clear, proactive communication with key stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, to align on priorities and roadmap.

Strategic Leadership & Senior Stakeholder Engagement

  • Provide regular updates to the senior leadership team, surfacing strategic initiative status, tradeoffs, and key decisions for collaborative discussion.

  • Help drive the product roadmap planning process, ensuring it reflects company strategy while being feasible and well-prioritized.

  • Foster a culture of customer obsession, ensuring that the team continuously gathers and applies user feedback to improve the product.

What are the qualifications to apply? To be successful as a Director, Product Management, you need to have:

  • Proven experience in refining and scaling a product management function, implementing a data-driven and customer-centric planning approach.

  • Strong leadership experience managing product managers, with a track record of growing and developing talent.

  • Deep understanding of product discovery, agile execution, and strategic roadmapping with the ability to balance long-term vision with iterative delivery.

  • Experience partnering with UX and engineering teams to ensure a seamless product development process.

  • Strong ability to surface tradeoffs and facilitate debate among executive stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with SCRUM development practices while keeping the focus on delivering pragmatic and outcome-driven results instead of rigidly aligning to processes alone.

  • Excellent communication and executive presence, with proven experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior leaders.

  • U.S. citizenship as required by our U.S. Government contracts.
