Summary

As a Principal Product Manager at SimSpace, you will drive the strategic evolution of a critical growth offering that empowers organizations to test, validate, and optimize their entire security stack in hyper-realistic simulated environments. In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for defining the long-term product vision and AI strategy that helps CISOs and security operations leaders make evidence-based decisions about their cybersecurity investments to reduce risk and maximize ROI. You will lead the development of AI-powered capabilities and agentic workflows that autonomously run multiple optimization scenarios, generate intelligent recommendations for security tool configurations, and provide automated guidance to customers.

This Principal Product Manager will play a pivotal role in defining, developing, and driving the product strategy and roadmap that leverages our cutting-edge cyber range technology and advanced AI/ML capabilities. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success to deliver a best-in-class solution, shaping how enterprises worldwide approach intelligent security stack optimization, from Fortune 500 financial institutions to critical infrastructure providers. This role will report to the Director of Product Management.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Define and clearly communicate the product vision and strategy for a key growth offering to establish SimSpace as the market leader in security toolstack optimization.
  • Lead the development of AI agents to dynamically test scenarios, analyze performance, and deliver optimized configuration and workflow recommendations.
  • Lead comprehensive market research and competitive intelligence initiatives to identify emerging opportunities and threats.
  • Drive strategic product decisions and feature prioritization based on market analysis, customer insights, and business impact assessment.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with leading security vendors to enhance platform integrations and market positioning.
  • Present product strategy and roadmap to executive leadership, board members, and key enterprise customers.

Product Development:

  • Lead cross-functional product development teams through complex technical initiatives including Agentic AI, leading AI- and ML-driven adaptive attacks, and automated security assessment capabilities.
  • Define and manage comprehensive product use-cases, requirements and acceptance criteria, connecting the product strategy down through initiatives and epics for the engineering team.
  • Oversee the complete product lifecycle for major Stack Optimizer releases, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer success metrics.
  • Drive technical innovation in security tool optimization methodologies and establish industry best practices for security stack performance measurement.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership across sales, marketing, engineering, and customer success to align Stack Optimizer strategy with company-wide objectives.
  • Serve as the primary product SME for Stack Optimizer to contribute to customer meetings, industry conferences, and analyst briefings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key enterprise customers and industry influencers to guide product direction and market positioning.

Customer Focus:

  • Engage with senior security leaders, security architects, and front-line security teams to understand on-going toolstack optimization challenges to inform product decisions.
  • Drive customer success initiatives that demonstrate measurable ROI including cost reduction, detection accuracy improvements, and operational efficiency gains.
  • Establish customer feedback loops, success metrics, and usage based telemetry to drive product strategy, meeting customer expectations, and strengthening competitive positioning.

Performance & Metrics:

  • Establish and monitor strategic product KPIs including adoption and usage growth, customer retention, and product-driven revenue impact.
  • Define customer success metrics for Stack Optimizer including security stack optimization outcomes, cost reduction and ROI improvements, and customer satisfaction scores.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the product through metrics, experimentation and customer/stakeholder feedback.

Leadership:

  • Mentor and coach junior product managers and other team members, specifically in providing cybersecurity domain expertise.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the product team, including role modeling best practices.
  • Drive organizational culture of innovation, customer obsession, and data-driven decision making within the product organization.
  • Represent SimSpace as a thought leader in security toolstack optimization across product strategy, content development, and external stakeholder activities.

What are the qualifications to apply? To be successful as a Principal Product Manager, you need:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in product management with a proven track record of delivering successful enterprise B2B software products, or equivalent experience in cybersecurity with significant expertise in security operations technologies used within a SOC at large enterprise organizations.
  • Extensive background in  current security tools on the market, security operations, security architecture and technology trends, and the competitive landscape.
  • Proven expertise in advanced penetration testing, threat emulation, breach and attack simulation, vulnerability assessment, threat detection, and incident response.
  • In-depth knowledge of security tools across CTEM, BAS, SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, cloud security , and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Strong understanding of security compliance standards and frameworks (NIST and MITRE ATT&CK), network protocols, operating systems, virtualized environments, and security architectures.

Skills:

  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Executive communication and presentation skills with experience influencing C-level decision makers and enterprise buying committees
  • Experience with high-velocity and scalable product development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in product management and engineering tools and processes (e.g., Jira, Agile, Scrum).

Preferred but not required:

  • Existing product management experience at a leading cybersecurity B2B SaaS product company in the SIEM, EDR or IDS/IPS market.
  • Experience in creating products/solutions or processes to benchmark, evaluate and optimize security and IT tool effectiveness under real-world attack conditions.
  • Background in detection engineering and rule creation related to the refinement of detection logic across SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and cloud security solutions.
  • Familiarity with cyber security team process optimization, including SOC efficiency, reduce alert fatigue, and automate incident response.
  • Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CISSP, CEH, GCIH, or equivalent highly desired.
  • Collaborated with red and blue teams to refine detection capabilities, response protocols, and deliver actionable recommendations for security improvements.
