Senior Calibration Technician - 2nd shift

This role:
The Senior Calibration Technician in Engineering performs routine and non-routine instrument calibrations. This includes maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of equipment and instruments for processing and packaging equipment. This position reports to the Calibration Manager and is 100% onsite. This position is also 2nd shift.
The responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate calibration support to manufacturing, packaging, quality, and other departments where current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) equipment and instruments are used
- Set-up standards and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate instruments - including researching instrument specification and calibration techniques for new equipment, as applicable
- Serves as a technical resource on calibration issues and investigations of out-of-tolerance non-conformances
- Adjusts/repairs instruments to meet calibration tolerance requirements
- Participate in continuous improvement functions (lean initiatives), which increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings and improve quality
- Serves as a subject matter expert for internal customers
- Coordinates instrument re-certification with outside standard laboratories - which includes performing incoming inspections and documentation reviews on these instruments, as applicable
- Write, revise, review, and train other technicians on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Required qualifications:
- AS degree in Electrical, Electronic or Instrumentation Technology
- In lieu of education, 5 years experience in instrumentation and/or electronics in an aseptic manufacturing environment; 3+ years experience if have AS degree
- Experience using calibration software/databases (MAXIMO, Blue Mountain, or similar system)
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Physical / safety requirements:
- Must be able to lift, push/pull, and carry up to 55 pounds
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirator
- May be required to work with pressurized equipment, hot surfaces
- May be required to work in confined spaces
- Position requires standing for long hours
- Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends
- Ability to qualify for Grade B gowning
