Our Headquarters are located on the Torrey Pines Mesa, in La Jolla, California at the center of the biotech hub. Our Manufacturing facility is in Sorrento Valley.
Position Summary:
As a Process Development Engineer, you will design, build, and test custom manufacturing equipment for reagent and flow cell consumables to meet the needs of rapidly scaling unique manufacturing processes. The role is highly collaborative, interfacing with R&D engineering, manufacturing, and multiple process development teams. Experience with filling, sealing, formulation and automation systems for assembly desired.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multiple process development teams to translate manufacturing processes to design requirements and specifications for production systems.
- Work with R&D Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and QC teams to enable low to high volume manufacturing.
- Establish robust manufacturing processes on production systems for reagents and consumables.
- Design and execute controlled experiments to develop and optimize production processes.
- Establish BOMs and assist in integration into ERP and QMS systems.
- Transfer new production processes to manufacturing personnel.
- Author and execute equipment qualifications (IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Present technical progress to peers and management.
- Demonstrate ability to trouble shoot, optimize and solve problems.
- Author SOPs, batch records, and technical documentation. Maintain excellent record keeping.
- Operates in fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities.
Qualifications:
- MS or BS in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable degree.
- 2-5 years of experience in a regulated industry
- Knowledge of automated manufacturing systems design and development.
- Experience developing high precision manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with automation solutions for high volume manufacturing.
- Experience with verification, validation, and working in PLM system.
- A team-player who demonstrates reliability, organization, flexibility, and multi-tasking skills.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $68,640 - $83,300. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Should the level of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
