Contract Senior DevOps Engineer

San Francisco
At Sirona Medical we’re building tools for physicians to work as fast as they can think.  Many billions of patient images are acquired each year in the U.S., and nearly all of them are reviewed and diagnosed by a radiologist. In fact, 80% of healthcare data flows through radiology IT systems, and radiologists are among healthcare’s most tech-savvy and influential physicians. But they desperately need better, user-friendly software that cuts clicks and optimizes diagnostic time. Sirona is building a modern cloud-native and AI-powered operating system (“RadOS”) that unifies radiology IT onto a single, streamlined workspace. We’re a San Francisco, CA-based software company (with employees working from all over the world) founded on a deep understanding of both the practice and business of radiology.

  • Develop and enhance GitOps/IaC tools with a focus on improving the developer experience.
  • Take primary responsibility for VPN infrastructure, including deployment, troubleshooting, and resolving connectivity or performance issues.
  • Manage and support a traditional Linux environment using configuration management tools for system and application deployments.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • A willingness to deeply understand all aspects of the stack.
  • Strong expertise in DevOps, with the ability to investigate and optimize any part of the stack.
  • A focus on simplicity and scalability, coupled with a collaborative, agile mindset and eagerness to learn.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, load balancing, databases, and networking.
  • Proficiency in microservices and serverless frameworks such as AWS Lambda or similar technologies.
  • Expertise in modern DevOps tools (e.g., Terraform, CDK, Salt, Ansible, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, ArgoCD, FluxCD) and programming languages like Python, Go, TypeScript, and Bash.
  • Solid Linux administration experience, particularly in bare-metal environments.
  • Strong Kubernetes administration skills, including managing multi-tenant clusters from deployment to supporting diverse application architectures.
