About SiTime

SiTime is the Precision Timing company.

Timing is the heartbeat of all electronics, ensuring performance, resilience and scalability. For decades, quartz devices, non-silicon technology, have kept systems in sync, but they struggle in harsher, more demanding environments. MEMS-based Precision Timing delivers greater accuracy, smaller size and resilience. Today, MEMS timing powers over 400 applications, including high-growth ones in AI datacenters, automated driving, industrial and humanoid robots, wearables and IoT.

Our semiconductor MEMS programmable solutions offer a rich feature set that enables customers to differentiate their products with higher performance, smaller size, lower power, and better reliability. With more than 4 billion devices shipped, SiTime is changing the timing industry. For more information, visit: www.sitime.com.

Job Summary

SiTime Corporation is seeking an Applications Manager for its Industrial Business Unit. This position serves as the bridge between the field organization (sales and field applications engineers) and Customer Engineering team and System Architects.

The Applications Manager is accountable for enabling the field organization to resolve customer technical challenges efficiently and effectively. Where an issue requires deeper product expertise, this role engages Customer Engineering or the system architects and retains ownership of the issue through resolution.

The factory applications function also serves as the primary channel for capturing customer requirements and new product opportunities. In partnership with the system architects, who hold primary responsibility for product definition, this role contributes to the definition of future products.

The Factory Applications Manager will initially operate in a player-coach capacity and will be responsible for establishing and growing the factory applications team over the first six to eight months.

We value diverse experiences, perspectives, and career paths, and welcome candidates who are excited to contribute to our mission.

Responsibilities:

Field Enablement and Customer Support

  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for sales and field applications engineers, supporting device selection, design reviews, system bring-up, and debug.
  • Own customer technical issues through resolution, engaging customer engineering and system architects as required.
  • Develop reference designs, demonstrations, and application notes that illustrate system-level solutions.
  • Translate recurring technical inquiries into documentation and training for the field organization.

Product Definition and Voice of the Customer

  • Capture, evaluate, and prioritize customer requirements and new product opportunities identified by the field.
  • Partner with system architects to inform new product definition with validated customer and market requirements.

Team Leadership and Operations

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a factory applications engineering team.
  • Establish clear processes for technical request intake, prioritization, and escalation across the field, factory applications, customer engineering, and system architecture teams.
  • Define and report on metrics for responsiveness, issue resolution, and contribution to design wins.
  • It is not necessary to meet all job requirements to be a qualified candidate for the position.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Ten or more years of semiconductor applications engineering experience, including direct customer engagement in a field or factory applications capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience across the product life cycle, including specification, validation, customer system design, bring-up, and compliance testing.
  • Proven record of collaborating with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to bring up and debug complex systems.
  • Experience managing and developing applications engineers, preferably across multiple sites.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, sales, and senior technical staff.
  • English proficiency is required, including the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and perform job responsibilities in a professional business environment.

Desired Characteristics & Attributes:

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with timing, clocking, or high-speed interface products.
  • Experience supporting industrial markets.
  • Recognized technical standing, such as a technical ladder appointment, patents, or published application content.
