Computer Network Operator Developer
We are seeking an experienced Computer Network Operator Developer. You will join a team of engineers designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Windows, Unix, and/or Mobile CNO capabilities in support of the customer's mission requirements.
This role resides in our Delivery department and reports to our Program Manager. This position is located on a customer site in the Ft. Meade area with a 10% travel requirement.
SIXGEN supports cyber and intelligence missions by serving government and commercial organizations as they overcome global cybersecurity challenges. Our highly skilled operators conduct research and assessments based on real-world threats. We simulate adversaries and malicious actors to report details and actionable findings on critical assets and infrastructures. Our program planners advise mission owners to bring rapid solutions to intelligence mission leaders. Using innovative processes, tools, and techniques, we predict and overcome cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Our successes are supported by our diverse team of experienced, technical talent. Core Responsibilities:
- Experience with designing and writing code in C, C++, Objective-C, Swift, or similar along with Python,
- Experience with reading or writing assembly (x86, x64, ARM, PPC, MIPS, SPAC, or others),
- Experience with debuggers such as gdb, WinDbg, OllyDbg,
- Experience with reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, HexRays, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, or objdump,
- Understanding of network protocols and sockets, OS internals, common CNO techniques, exploitation mitigations such as DEP and ASLR, and modern software engineering concepts,
- Experience with project management best practices such as Scrum and Kanban methodologies, and
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) along with understanding of basic configuration management principles.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor degree and 4-16 years of experience in relevant field,
- Minimum 6 years of experience programming in Assembly, C, C++, Java, Perl, and/or Python,
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing in one (1) or more of the following: Windows applications using Visual Studio or .NET environments; UNIX applications using make files or comparable build environments; mission-applicable platforms,
- Minimum 4 years of experience with programming CNO tools and techniques,
- Minimum 2 years of experience programming CNO tools for the US Government,
- Minimum 2 years of experience programming techniques to evade host and or network-based IDS,
- Minimum 2 years of experience developing packet-level programs, and
- Minimum 2 years of experience in network sockets programming.
Additional Details
- Job Location: Onsite in the Ft. Meade, MD area.
- Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph within the last 5 years.

At SIXGEN, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The anticipated salary range for this role is $150,000 -$190,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects our compensation philosophy, which takes into account various factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, skills, LCATs rates and position level, and market competitiveness. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for other forms of compensation to include our growth incentive program, incentives and benefits. The final salary offer will be determined after a thorough review of the candidate's background and alignment with the role. Please note that this range is subject to change and should be considered as a guideline rather than a definitive figure.
