DeltaV Automation II - Ireland
Skellig is seeking an Automation Engineer with DeltaV and cGMP experience to support our clients in Ireland. To be considered for this role you must have DeltaV experience and experience working in biotech/pharma.
Overview:
The Automation Engineer II is an experienced-level position that supports the design, configuration, and troubleshooting of DeltaV DCS (Distributed Control Systems) for process automation projects. This engineer will take on more responsibility for system design and troubleshooting and will handle complex systems with minimal guidance.
Responsibilities:
1. System Design & Configuration
- Design, configure, and test DeltaV DCS systems, including control and equipment modules, batch control systems, graphics, alarm management, and control logic.
- Facilitate the integration of DeltaV DCS with other control systems, such as SCADA or PLC-based systems.
2. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
- Troubleshoot and resolve DeltaV system issues, including control loop discrepancies, system-level communication errors, network issues, and performance bottlenecks.
3. Project Execution
- Develop and maintain system documentation and specifications, including design documents, testing protocols, and validation reports.
- Perform system commissioning and validation, ensuring they meet project specifications and regulatory standards.
4. Regulatory Compliance
- Develop documentation for system installation, upgrades, and modifications, in compliance with industry standards (e.g., GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, S88, and S95).
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience with DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of DeltaV DCS and related tools, as well as process control principles. Experience with batch control and graphics configuration.
- Experience with system integration between DeltaV and other control platforms (e.g., PLC, SCADA, etc.).
- Experience with system diagnostics and troubleshooting tools.
- Experience with DeltaV system commissioning and validation in regulated environments and associated requirements (e.g., GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, S88, and S95) in automation systems.
- Familiarity with plant manufacturing (equipment, products, process steps, etc.).
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work with minimal guidance and manage project deliverables in support of cross-functional teams, with work potentially spanning multiple projects.
- Good communication skills for both internal collaboration and client interactions.
