SK hynix are seeking an experienced individual to spearhead our Corporate & Public Relations initiatives for our state-of-the-art semiconductor facility in West Lafayette, Indiana. This position demands outstanding expertise in community outreach, media relations, and governmental liaison. The successful candidate will effectively bridge our operations in Indiana, support functions in our headquarters, fostering mutual understanding and support. This position provides an exceptional opportunity to drive community relations and public engagement in alignment with our pivotal semiconductor expansion.
- Develop and implement comprehensive community and public relations strategies
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and local community
- Manage media relations, including drafting press releases and liaising with local journalists
- Organize and participate in community outreach events and activities
- Monitor public sentiment and address concerns through effective communication.
- Create and maintain strong relationships with local government officials and community leaders
- Manage crisis communication and handle any potential public relations challenges
- Maintain a calendar of community-related events and ensure appropriate corporate participation
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure messaging is consistent and aligned with corporate goals
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, community development, or a related field is required
- At least 5 years of experience in public relations, community engagement, or similar roles within the manufacturing or technology sectors is needed
- Excellent written, editing, and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences are required
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines are necessary
- Superior interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse groups are essential
- Proven ability to creatively and diplomatically solve problems is needed
- An understanding of the socioeconomic environment and local networks in Indiana is required
- Experience managing digital communication platforms, including social media, is expected
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in in the semiconductor or advanced technology manufacturing sector
- Experience with government funding programs
- Experience working in a multicultural or international environment
- Experience in establishing new legal entities and operation
- Experience handling public relations issues related to large-scale construction or industrial projects is important.
- Authorized to work in the US
- Willingness to travel periodically to San Jose, South Korea, and other locations as needed
- Ability to work extended hours when necessary due to global time differences
- Acceptance of and commitment to detailed background checks is required
