Position Overview

 

We are seeking a visionary and technically proficient Vice President of NAND Storage Systems Engineering to lead our systems engineering group and drive innovation in our technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will oversee system architecture, lead technical teams, and ensure alignment between engineering initiatives and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Alignment

  • Develop and execute systems engineering strategy aligned with company goals
  • Lead cross-functional teams delivering complex technical solutions to ensure high level of test coverage and debug ability.
  • Work closely with Program Owners to define technical roadmaps and implementation timelines
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends to anticipate customer needs
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on technology strategy
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Evaluate ROI and business impact of engineering initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards

 

Project Management & Technical Oversight

  • Lead large-scale system engineering projects from conception to deployment
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across SoC, Firmware and Project Owner groups for project execution
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Conduct risk assessment and mitigation for technical initiatives
  • Ensure quality assurance and testing standards are maintained
  • Ensure systems meet performance, scalability, and security requirements
  • Conduct technical reviews and architecture assessments

 

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Recruit, develop, and manage high-performing engineering teams
  • Mentor and coach technical leaders and engineers
  • Establish performance metrics and KPIs for engineering teams
  • Foster collaborative culture and professional development
  • Manage budget and resource allocation for engineering projects
  • Represent systems engineering group in executive meetings
  • Communicate technical progress and challenges to senior leadership
  • Reassure customers during escalation situations
  • Foster and uphold strong collaborative relationship with vendors

Qualifications and Requirements

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
  • Master's degree and higher education level is a plus

 

Experience

  • 20+ years of progressive leadership experience in system engineering or related field
  • 10+ years supervisory/management experience with technical teams
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale system implementations
  • Experience in enterprise-level technology environments

 

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of PCIe, NVMe, DDR4/5, and NAND is required
  • Experience with eSSD drive development, including PCB design, SI/PI simulations, and interface bring up is a must
  • eSSD qualification and issue triage is a necessity
  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, Go, etc.) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AI requirements for storage is a plus
  • Development experiences in SoC dev and FW dev, cross functional experiences is a plus

COMPENSATION: $280,000/yr - $400,000/yr
