About the Role

SK Hynix Memory Solutions is a leading worldwide provider of NVMe storage solutions for enterprise and hyperscale applications. We are looking for a highly motivated Staff or Sr. Staff Engineer to develop and execute test plans and methodologies for validating enterprise NVMe SSDs and their features. You will own test execution, initial failure analysis, and drive issues to resolution with development and functional teams to ensure the highest product quality for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans for devices/systems under test based on the NVMe/OCP/PCIe specifications, PRDs, and customer requirements.
  • Perform DVT testing for release and test firmware — execute test suites, report results, and file/track defects.
  • Analyze failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with development and functional teams to resolve product challenges.
  • Engage with 3rd-party vendors for test suite updates, tool development requests, platform troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Stay current on new features and functional changes from the latest NVMe, OCP, PCIe, industry, and customer requirements; leverage AI tools to improve work efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the data storage industry (enterprise SSD/NVMe experience preferred).
  • Solid understanding of fundamental NVMe concepts: Admin and I/O commands, Log Pages, Power Loss Protection (PLP), Controller Level Resets, and Out-of-Band (OOB) interface.
  • Familiarity with storage test methodologies for NVMe, OCP, and PCIe requirements; ability to capture signal waveforms and PCIe traces for bus-level debug.
  • Experience working with enterprise servers in Linux, ESXi, and Windows Server OS environments is a PLUS/desirable.
  • Strong system/device debugging skills and ability to resolve complex issues independently.
  • Proficiency in developing automation scripts (JavaScript, Python) is required.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, SkHy or Gemini) to boost engineering productivity

Education Requirement

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or another applicable engineering field.
