Description
Skip is seeking a Communications and Events Associate to join our ambitious and idealistic team. In this role, you will drive our public communications on key social media channels, and explore the development of new social channels that reach a larger audience.
You will ensure that Skip’s voice is consistent, authentic, and aligned with our intellectual honesty and accountability values. You will also be responsible for producing events where the Skip community can learn and create together.
Role
- Social media management - Maintain and grow Skip’s social media presence, focusing on Twitter and expanding to other relevant platforms. Develop and implement social media strategies that effectively communicate our brand message and engage our target audience.
- Content creation - Craft compelling and accurate content that resonates with Skip’s community of developers and users. This includes posts, blogs, press releases, and other marketing materials that effectively communicate the value of Skip’s products. Our team uses Figma, Typefully, Notion, Google Suite, and a variety of other modern tools for public communication.
- Community engagement - Actively engage with our community across social channels, fostering discussions, answering inquiries, and building relationships with key stakeholders in the blockchain space.
- Event coordination - Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of events, both virtual and in-person, that strengthen Skip’s brand presence and community ties. This includes conferences, meetups, dinners, and events tailored to cross-disciplinary learning and cultural enrichment.
- Collaboration - Work closely with the executive team, product managers, and the operations lead to align communication strategies with Skip’s overall goals and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Monitoring and reporting - Track and analyze the performance of social media campaigns and events, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience - 1-3 years of experience in communications, marketing, event production, or related work. Familiarity with crypto or a technical field of some kind.
- Interest in crypto - Enthusiasm for crypto and peer-to-peer technologies, with a healthy balance of critical self-awareness. An eagerness to learn and get up to speed quickly is more important than prior experience.
- Clear communicator - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to convey complex ideas to various technical and non-technical audiences in an engaging and accessible manner.
- Imaginative and nuanced thinker - Creative mindset with the capacity to develop unique ideas and publishing strategies that resonate with our audience. A nuanced understanding of internet colloquialisms is a plus.
- Event Management - Proven experience in organizing events, managing budgets and timelines, and coordinating with vendors to ensure successful event execution.
- Organized - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to execute multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Collaborative - Asks good questions and contributes to a healthy and collaborative dialogue across different products and teams within the organization.
