Skylo’s direct-to-device service is now live across four continents, with more than 50 million square kilometers of coverage, in partnership with multiple satellite operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs. Devices connected over satellite are managed and served by Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, featuring a 3GPP standards-based cloud-native base station and core. Skylo provides anywhere, anytime connectivity solution that seamlessly roams between terrestrial and satellite networks. Our focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows across three main verticals: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT.
This role may be a hybrid role with occasional sync up face-to-face meetings scheduled in Mountain View, CA.
Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo
Skylo is hiring a Data Analytics Intern responsible for providing support and novel insights to internal stakeholders across multiple Skylo teams. This role will report directly to a Senior Analyst on Skylo’s data team.
How You Will Contribute
- Build understanding of the business across multiple areas.
- Identify appropriate device and traffic related insights across the Skylo network
- Leverage appropriate types and sources of data.
- Evaluate sufficiency of data sources and address gaps.
- Participate in full-stack development for a bespoke live data dashboard, working with front-end frameworks (e.g., React) and back-end APIs (e.g., Flask, Node.js), ensuring seamless integration with real-time data sources.
- Create novel visualizations and analyses in the live data dashboard and beyond, using complex SQL queries and Python scripts
- Synthesize results across evaluations for leadership
- Leverage working relationships across teams for relevant insight generation.
- Drive cross functional alignment across Skylo
What We Look For
- Junior or Senior enrolled in a computer science, data analytics or another similar degree path
- Strong passion for data-based storytelling
- Ability to occasionally work a flexible/multi-timezone schedule, take calls in the late evening to work with business partners in India and/or Israel
- Strong skills in SQL
- Strong skills in Python, familiarity with data packages such as Pandas and Numpy are preferred
- Experience and/or coursework in Full-Stack development ( skills in Python, CSS, Node.js, flask and react are preferred)
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Quick learner, willing to take a “hands-on” approach to education
- Experience working with Tableau, PowerBI, or a similar data visualization system is preferred, but not required
- Team player with a “get-it-done” mindset

Additional information
The compensation range for this position is: $18.75 - $25.00 per hour. This range reflects the low and high end of the range Skylo reasonably and generally expects to pay the hired candidate in this role.
