Skylo’s direct-to-device service is now live across four continents, with more than 50 million square kilometers of coverage, in partnership with multiple satellite operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs. Devices connected over satellite are managed and served by Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, featuring a 3GPP standards-based cloud-native base station and core. Skylo provides anywhere, anytime connectivity solution that seamlessly roams between terrestrial and satellite networks. Our focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows across three main verticals: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT.
This role is located in Mountain View, CA where we are onsite 3 days a week in office.
Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo
Skylo is hiring a Controller to help fulfill Skylo’s mission of making satellite connectivity available to all. This individual will be a critical leader responsible for building and managing the financial infrastructure of a rapidly growing business. This role will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, implement strong internal controls, and provide key insights to drive strategic decision-making. The Controller will manage cash flow, navigate complex accounting issues, and ensure compliance, safeguarding the company's financial health and enabling sustainable growth.
How You Will Contribute
- Oversee monthly and quarterly financial close processes ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Own and lead the annual audit engagements across all Skylo Technologies Inc. entities.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and proactively interpret financial and accounting implications of new contracts.
- Provide reporting and ensure compliance on investor reporting, debt covenants, etc.
- Interpret accounting guidance, write accounting memos that defend Skylo’s accounting position, and ensure CFO is kept up to date on latest changes in accounting guidance.
- Implement systems, tools, and policies that not only ensure stringent controls, but also streamline day-to-day operations.
- Create quarterly CFO close package and work closely with FP&A on budget versus actual analysis.
- Manage international entity accounting teams for current and future entities.
- As needed, set up new entities including defining system and process requirements, Netsuite testing and rollout, and finding local accounting teams and auditors.
- Drive and refine processes related to financial and accounting operations.
- Ensure compliance on employee equity options (Carta and stock based comp accounting).
- Collaborate with third-party tax vendors to create accurate and timely tax provisions.
- Own financial operations including billing, credit check, AP, and other P2P and O2C pieces as needed.
- Manage one Accounting Manager, providing leadership, support, and development.
- Assist with reporting preparation including for investors, Board of Directors, and management.
What We Look For
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Holds a CPA and 5+ years of Big 4 experience.
- 10+ years of experience in accounting or controllership, with a track record of success in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Must have experience working in an operational business environment, preferably a combination of public and private companies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.

Additional information
The compensation range for this position is: $200,000 - $230,000 plus equity. This range reflects the low and high end of the range Skylo reasonably and generally expects to pay the hired candidate in this role.
