Skylo is a global Non-Terrestrial Network service provider based in Mountain View, CA, offering a service that allows smartphone and IoT cellular devices to connect directly over existing satellites.
Skylo’s direct-to-device service is now live on millions of activated devices across five continents, with more than 60 million square kilometers of coverage, in partnership with multiple satellite operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs. Devices connected over satellite are managed and served by Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, featuring a 3GPP standards-based cloud-native base station and core. Skylo provides anywhere, anytime connectivity solution that seamlessly roams between terrestrial and satellite networks. Our focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows across three main verticals: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT.
This role is located in Bangalore, India where we are onsite 3 days a week in office.
Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo
Skylo is hiring a highly motivated Engineering Program Manager with a solid background in technical program and project management, specifically within IT infrastructure, Operations Support Systems (OSS), and Business Support Systems (BSS). You have practical, hands-on experience managing complex, cross-functional projects. This role involves coordinating multiple engineering teams, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and proactively addressing potential challenges. You'll manage a wide range of initiatives, including developing and deploying IT infrastructure, orchestrating software releases for OSS/BSS, integrating with various internal systems, and working with vendors. Your ability to communicate detailed project statuses to both technical and non-technical audiences is critical, and you have a strong technical foundation in IT and business support systems.
How You Will Contribute
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT infrastructure and OSS/BSS projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
- Create and manage comprehensive project plans, roadmaps, and timelines. Work with cross-functional teams to define scope, dependencies, and resource assignments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and deliverables. Communicate effectively to ensure alignment across all teams.
- Drive non-engineering tasks such as hosting meetings, addressing queries from product management, sales, and vendors, and removing blockers for the engineering teams.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to gather retrospective feedback and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and project delivery.
- Ensure timely upward communication and escalation of issues to engineering leadership and other relevant teams.
- Experience working with a variety of teams, including IT operations, software engineering, quality assurance, and product management.
What We Look For
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in project and engineering program management, with a focus on IT, OSS, and/or BSS systems.
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience with system integration.
- Proficiency in waterfall, scrum, and agile methodologies.
- Experience with program management tools such as JIRA.
- Demonstrated ability to work with external stakeholders (e.g., clients, vendors, partners).
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments, adapting quickly to changing prioritie
