This role is located in Espoo, Finland where we are onsite 3 days a week in office. 

Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo

As a Staff Test Engineer focusing on RAN, you will play a key role in the detailed testing for NR-NTN products at Skylo. You will be responsible for setting up test-benches, developing and executing test cases for NR-NTN RAN nodes in satellite radio access networks. 

How You Will Contribute 

  • Analyze the use cases/requirements for NR-NTN related requests from customer and deployment engineers and convert them into test-plans.
  • Understand 3GPP standards, and system engineering documents to come up with thorough and in-depth test plans for testing NR-NTN base stations .
  • Implement end-to-end test automation to test NTN specific test cases to our internal algorithms and 3GPP standards test cases.
  • Understand existing test setup and augment it with new test tools to develop test scripts using those test tools. 
  • Reproduce and test field scenarios based on feedback from Customer deployments.
  • Log analysis, Performance, Capacity and Soak testing.
  • Raising bugs and getting the issues fixed in coordination with the development team.

What We Look For 

To be successful in this role, you should have a solid background in 4G-NB-IoT and 5G-NTN RAN network testing.

  • 10+  years of experience in 4G/5G radio access wireless networking products testing. NR-NTN or Nb-NTN network side testing experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in UE Simulators like Keysight or Amarisoft UE Simulators is preferred.
  • Experience in creating Robot Framework test cases is preferred or similar test automation frameworks is preferred. Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python is preferred.
  • Working experience in 4G/5G base-station verification cycle by validating 3GPP protocols, call flow, end to end traffic throughput requirements.
  • Should have deep working knowledge Wireless Radio Access & Core Standards testing, IETF Standards, VoLTE/NR, , EPC core, RRH, Handover/Mobility testing. Should have worked on testing of RAN nodes in 4G/5G wireless networks. 
  • Should be familiar with air interface, S1AP, Mobility and 4G-NB-IoT & 5G-NTN stack.
  • Should have good Debugging and Troubleshooting and log analysis skills.
