SAFETY PILOT - CAMARILLO, CA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and execute developmental and certification flight tests on modified aircraft.
- Perform ground, pre-flight, and flight operations in line with test plans, SOPs, and safety protocols.
- Learn and operate SkyOS, contributing pilot insight as the system evolves.
- Partner with Test Pilots and Flight Test Engineers to create and refine test plans, cards, and procedures.
- Help develop standard operating procedures, checklists, and readiness processes across the fleet.
- Identify, document, and communicate in-flight anomalies and potential safety risks.
- Participate in post-flight debriefs, offering pilot feedback to drive improvements and engineering decisions.
- Support aircraft acceptance, ferry flights, and post-maintenance check flights as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter certificate.
- Demonstrated experience operating multiple rotorcraft types or mission profiles.
- Minimum 1,000 hrs PIC helicopter flight hours.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to integrate with engineering, test pilots, and program teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of the Robinson Safety Course and familiarity with SFAR 73.
- 200 hours CFI or dynamic hands-on flying such as agricultural, long-line, etc.
- Recent PIC experience (last 90 days) in Robinson R66 or R44.
- Experience supporting experimental, developmental, post-maintenance, or acceptance flight operations.
- Prior exposure to flight test, flight data review, or structured/technical debrief formats.

- Compensation:
- Salary: $90,000 – $140,000 for candidates with 1,000+ hours of helicopter PIC.
- Salary: $140,000 – $190,000 for candidates with 2,500+ hours of helicopter PIC.

- Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
- Full-time employees are eligible for 20 days of paid time off (PTO) and 5 sick days annually. PTO and sick days must be used in accordance with Company policy.

The posted salary range reflects the potential base pay for this role, adjusted to account for varying geographic markets. Final compensation will be based on factors such as your location, job-related skills, experience, and internal alignment, including equity and benefits.
