Sales Operations Lead

About Slate

Slate is a new company exploring development in the electric vehicle space.

Who we are looking for:

We seek an enthusiastic and experienced Sales Operations Lead to join our dynamic team. As our Sales Operations Lead, you will play a crucial role in shaping our strategic direction and owning the implementation of our commercial fulfillment operations strategy. The ideal candidate will be a natural lean operations thinker and collaborator, able to build processes and teams from scratch, select and manage partnerships, and lead cross-functional teams to execute our strategy.  Familiarity with automotive aftermarket parts distribution, including ACES and PIES, is required.

What you get to do:

The Sales Operations Lead will be responsible for all commercial fulfillment operations, including vehicles, spare parts, accessories, and apparel. Responsibilities include:

· Process design and implementation: Develop and drive processes for order management from start to delivery for vehicles, parts, and accessories that deliver the desired customer experience.

· Parts fulfillment: Develop strategies and plans that leverage the existing aftermarket supply chain for parts fulfillment (i.e., Autozone, NAPA, others).

· Partnership Management: Manage necessary partnerships, including third-party logistics and others, from initial selection to implementation.

· Operational planning: Develop clear objectives, measurements, and mechanisms to achieve quality, cost, timing, and customer experience objectives.

· Project Management: Spearhead workstreams within the operations strategy, collaborating closely with the IT, Digital, Service, and Accessories teams.

· Team Leadership: Build and motivate a direct and indirect team with different responsibilities and experiences as the company evolves.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or Operations Management field. MBA is preferred but not required.

· Proven experience in an operations management role, with a preference for experience in direct-to-consumer order management and fulfillment.

· Familiarity with automotive aftermarket parts distribution, including ACES and PIES, is required.

· Demonstrated proficiency in Lean Operations, including Continuous Improvement methodologies.

· Experience with project management tools and methodologies.

· Experience managing external relationships.

· An ability to thrive in an ambiguous, entrepreneurial environment and adept at working from a clean sheet without legacy constraints or pre-defined processes.

· An ability to manage fast-paced projects from inception to deployment, providing structure and milestone monitoring for all stakeholders (likely from different cultures and in different time zones).

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to financially sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for this opportunity currently.

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
