Who we are looking for:

Slate is looking for an experienced and dynamic Quality Systems Engineer to join our growing team. The position will provide unequivocal support and lead the selection, implementation, and business maintenance of the quality systems (QMS and QOS) and related quality IT tools and systems for Slate. This role will work closely with all quality functions (Manufacturing and Supplier Quality), IT, other business stakeholders, and external vendors to verify that the QMS and QOS meets business requirements and standards. You will feel comfortable operating in a flexible and fast paced environment with a collaborative approach to achieving goals!

What you get to do:

  • Be responsible for quality systems strategy, roadmap, and execution for Slate, aligning with the business objectives and priorities including business lifecycle, from selection, startup, integration, validation, training, support, to continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate the business requirements, user feedback, and best practices for our QMS and QOS systems, Windchill preferred, ensuring that they meet the needs and expectations of the internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT, other functional teams and the external vendors to ensure the quality system is reliable, secure, scalable, and compliant with the policies and standards.
  • Support the supplier quality, manufacturing quality, vendor selection, qualification, certification, scorecard, quoting, and integration processes for the QMS/ QOS, ensuring that they are consistent, efficient, and effective.
  • Monitor and report on the quality systems performance, quality, and compliance, identifying and resolving any issues or risks.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and training to quality systems users, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Support data mining and analysis activities to streamline Slate’s data accuracy and management, particularly related to quality.
  • Supports the implementation of relevant corrective actions, preventive actions and activities in striving for excellence.
  • Supports and contributes to service requests regarding management system, processes, methods and tools as well as for training.
  • Support/ lead special projects driving CI and Excellence relative to data collection and analysis.
  • Support definition of quality systems relative to processes, methods and tools in collaboration with quality and cross-functional teams

 

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in quality, engineering or related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in QMS and QOS IT systems management, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Good knowledge of quality systems, processes, methods, tools and standards, such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, etc.
  • Proven experience in QMS and QOS IT systems integration, support and validation
  • Experience with integration with PLM, MES and ERP systems.
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Passion for quality, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Good communication and project management skills
  • High level of integrity and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment.
