Chassis Controls System and Release Engineer

Position: Chassis Controls System and Release Engineer (Job Code: 1002)
Duties:
Responsible for developing the requirements and managing Tier 1 suppliers for anti-lock brakes, traction, electronic stability and power steering controls; responsible for driving the development of body controller requirements for all Re:Car electric vehicles; develop unique solutions for various control problems for the Chassis Control Domain including Electronic Stability Control (ESC) module, I-Booster (IBO) Module, Electric Power Steering (EPS) module and required Chassis Sensors (wheel speed and steering); develop functional requirements for each module including interfaces, diagnostics, and fault detection protocol; develop and document test plans for the required control modules; release the control modules part numbers in the Product Lifecycle Management system and maintain release levels as the design matures; utilize CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, DFMEA, DVP&R, 5 Whys, Pareto charts, Ishikawa, and APQP to perform duties; create DFMEA, FuSa, and HARA analysis to meet objectives reviews to identify technical risks and drive the controls logic in order to improve detection and reduce potential failures of the design; develop comprehensive test plans, lead cross-functional reviews, coordinate validation studies, prepare detailed reports, manage timelines, and implement risk mitigation strategies throughout the Development, Validation, Planning & Review (DVP&R) process; review hardware design with cross functional teams to ensure the hardware meets requirements; assist technicians and troubleshooters with the theory of operations and controls logic behind each sub-system and component; work with HIL/SIL Validation Engineers to develop test plans to ensure the design meets program requirements; implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices to ensure robust customer and corporation protection over the lifecycle.
Location: Troy, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;
Salary: $98,000 per year;
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as a Design and Release Engineer, as a Systems Engineer, or in a related occupation;
Other Requirements: Experience must include two (2) years’ use of all the following: CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, DFMEA, DVP&R, 5 Whys, Pareto charts, Ishikawa, and APQP.
