Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor for our Body in White department. In this role, you will lead a team of up to 8 managers, up to 80 employees, in the launching of our new vehicle body in white manufacturing system. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving innovation. Central Midwest location in a highly desirable mid-size community.

- Oversee and manage manufacturing engineering activities for either the cab or frame section, ensuring compliance with production schedules and quality benchmarks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to optimize manufacturing processes and integrate innovative technologies seamlessly.
- Develop production execution the body in white Manufacturing Systems specifications, process documents, layouts, safety requirements, tooling specifications and standards, as well as document lessons learned for future programs and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical expertise on complex engineering challenges and troubleshoot issues to maintain a streamlined production flow.
- Drive the development and execution of training programs to enhance the engineering team's skills and capabilities.
- Deliver a Body in White system and process that meets product performance requirements, CAPEX and OPEX targets, as well as uptime, quality, and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers/partners and internal departments to execute the body in white tooling and process equipment.
- Lead the body in white team in the development, design, and execution of the Body in White Manufacturing Systems.
- Resolve product/process/integration issues, investigate part loading, process, tooling, and ergonomic issues to resolution. Develop tooling solutions for Manufacturing aligned with product requirements.
What you bring to the team:
- Proven experience in a leadership role in manufacturing engineering, with at least 15 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of Body in White manufacturing processes, with expertise in either the cab or frame section.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, demonstrated by a record of accomplishment of building and developing high-performing engineering teams.
- Expertise in advanced tooling, controls and automation, robotics, welding, industrial engineering, dimensional control, and maintenance engineering.
- Expertise in quality management, with in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control disciplines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and deliver results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Develop all Product Assembly Documents (PADs) for the body in white department; develop PAD standards.
- Ability to implement new and innovative manufacturing processes and technology.
- Expert communicator with aligned motives for joining our company.
- Excellent problem solver and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and competing priorities at the same time.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
- Flexibility to relocate to other Slate location.
