Slate is a new US Electric Vehicle company transforming the battery electric vehicle space.
Who we are looking for:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Control Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in overseeing and managing production processes plant wide. The Production Control Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring that production processes are efficient, timely, and within budget. May manage a team of up to 140. Central Midwest location in a highly desirable mid-size community.

- Develop comprehensive production control plans, outlining timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define production scope and objectives.
- Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams in the execution of Beta builds and overall production projects.
- Monitor production progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Implement effective production control processes and methodologies.
- Allocate resources appropriately to ensure production success.
- Manage inbound and outbound parts flow, ensuring efficient supply chain operations.
- Utilize ERP systems to manage production schedules, inventory, and resource planning.
- Work closely with department heads to secure necessary resources and support.
- Communicate production status, issues, and risks to stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Foster a collaborative and transparent communication environment within the production team.
- Identify and address production issues promptly to keep the process on track.
- Implement corrective actions to overcome obstacles and challenges.
- Implement and maintain quality control processes throughout the production lifecycle.
- Ensure that products meet established quality standards.
- Maintain detailed production documentation, including plans, schedules, and reports.
- Capture and document lessons learned for continuous improvement.
What you bring to the team:
- Safety above all to protect our team members, partners, and customers.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Production Control Manager in the manufacturing or assembly industry.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes; Kanban, packaging, logistics, inbound and outbound, plant traffic flows.
- Strong production control skills with a focus on delivering results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in ERP systems and production management software.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive production success.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in production control management in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on launching new car models. In lieu of degree, minimum 20 years of experience.
- Flexibility to relocation to other Slate location.
