Who we are looking for: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Equipment Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide engineering services in a technically sound, safe, timely and cost effective manner.
What you get to do:
- Prioritize safety above all to protect our team members, partners, and customers.
- Provide support to management for Manufacturing Equipment specifications projects at our manufacturing facility using LEAN methodologies, including lifecycle planning
- Responsible for organizing and producing engineering drawings for installation and commissioning of new and existing designs that consists of physical layouts (general arrangements, grounding, conduits) to electro-mechanical and microprocessor type protection relay systems in high voltage stations.
- Working closely with IT to install and integrate equipment with our MES, ERP, and PLM Systems (NetSuite, Oracle, Allen Bradley, etc)
- Leading and supporting design teams involved with conceptual, preliminary, and final design of station projects.
- Producing, reviewing, and mentoring physical design and electrical designs.
- Performs engineering design work and engineering studies.
- Performs as engineering project leader.
- Prepares specifications for RFQ and vendor qualifications
- Prepares recommendation material for management consideration.
- Administers and reviews work performed by consultants and others.
- Performs field engineering work and analyses.
- Responsible for project budgets and schedules.
- Maintains equipment, systems and components to ensure their performance and capacity.
- Develop test plans and performs tests on electrical circuitry, equipment, and systems.
What you bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (Professional Engineer (PE) license and advance degree is a plus).
- Minimum 5 years proven experience in a similar role, with a track record of successfully supporting automotive vehicle launches.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing continuous improvement, high voltage, transformers and switch gears.
- Experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and execution of Manufacturing Facilities
- Preferred experience with greenfield or brownfield facility conversion
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be proficient in mechanical and controls.
- OSHA certification is a plus
- Experience with PLC, Automation, HMI, and power distribution equipment
- Experience with automotive manufacturing equipment controls or similar industrial settings
- Previous experience as a certified electrician is a plus
- Experience with working with IT for equipment installation and set up
