About Slate
At Slate, we’ve got one job: building a vehicle you’ll fall in love with, right here in the USA. We believe that car buyers — not car companies — should call the shots. We like looking at a road, not a screen. We don’t like paying for stuff we don’t need. We like picking out the stuff we do need. We think dings are badges, not blemishes. But we know not everyone likes what we like. So, we built you a Slate: you make it yours.
Who we are looking for:
Slate is looking for an energetic, organized, and experienced SI&OP Analyst to join our growing team. The SI&OP Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process. You will do this through forecasting demand (sales planning), optimizing inventory levels, and aligning procurement and production activities to meet customer requirements and business objectives. You will bring SI&OP to life across the business units of Slate, including vehicle (consumer and fleet), service parts, accessories, and apparel and merchandise. You will work cross-functionally with teams including, but not limited to, the individual business units, Sales, Marketing, Brand, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and Finance to develop a rolling 12-24 month executable business plan.
What you get to do:
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and other teams or business units to gather insights, trends, and historical sales data needed for demand forecast development.
- Develop accurate demand forecasts (including developing forecast models) from the data gathered, including documenting adjustments based on data gathered to determine accuracy of data gathered.
- Measure and evaluate forecast accuracy at multiple lag times to further improve the forecasting process.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure alignment with demand forecasts and to drive appropriate operational planning.
- Work with procurement, production, and fulfillment teams to ensure appropriate inventory levels needed to meet customer demand while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
- Work with procurement, production, sales, and other teams to resolve imbalances between Demand, Inventory, and Operations plans, including providing insights to help lead to the most effective and efficient issue resolution.
- Develop, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to SI&OP including, but not limited to, forecast accuracy (at multiple time lags), inventory turns, service levels, and production / procurement performance.
- Support the monthly SI&OP cycle through preparation and execution of the monthly SI&OP cycle. including but not limited to, meeting / presentation preparation, analysis to support SI&OP recommendations, and SI&OP KPI report out.
- Drive a continuous improvement mindset within SI&OP focusing on SI&OP processes, forecast accuracy, inventory management, and overall process efficiencies.
What you bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, Data Analytics or equivalent is preferred. While a degree is preferred, we value hands-on experience and a proven track record of success in SI&OP planning as a suitable substitute and encourage candidates to apply who can demonstrate 8+ years of relevant and commensurate professional experience.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in Business Management within Supply Chain is required.
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience working within SI&OP or Demand Planning is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with an understanding of data interpretation and forecasting models (both statistical and non-statistical).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or other analytical tools, such as Alteryx, Tableau, or other scripting tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an understanding of how to present complex data in easily understood ways to multiple levels with the business.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Comfortable in start-up environments. You can roll up your sleeves to do the work and build or recommend the tools needed to be successful as the company grows.
- A proactive, “one company” teammate with a continuous improvement approach, that is equally comfortable with warehousing practices, materials management, business planning, and financial implications.
- Capability to work cross-functionally with partners, suppliers, and vendors, building strong relationships that produce positive results.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to travel (up to 10%).
- Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Must have the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
