Who we are looking for:
The Electrical Integration Engineer will lead Electrical’s End-Of-Line (EOL) development with Manufacturing, electrical systems diagnostic procedure development with the Service group, and Warranty projection and remediation development. This position will complement the existing software validation team specializing in system-level and component-level diagnostics.
This individual will report to the Head of Electrical, and responsibilities will be broad and complex in scope. This is a hands-on position that will require creativity, superior initiative, good judgement, and leadership skills.
This position will require the ability to travel domestically (up to 50%). Travel sites will include the assembly plant, marketing events, and test trips.
What you get to do:
- Lead the development of End-Of-Line (EOL) test procedures for the Electrical group, including electrical testing at the component level and system level.
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing team on equipment selection for the assembly plant.
- Collaborate with the Service team on developing repair instructions for electrical systems and components.
- Collaborate with the Service team on Warranty projections and reduction plans.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices to ensure robust customer and corporation protection over the lifecycle.
- Utilize Lean methodologies throughout.
What you bring to the team:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Master's degree is preferred.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the automotive industry, including experience in:
- End-Of-Line (EOL) testing in a manufacturing environment.
- Automotive service diagnostics.
- Warranty investigation.
- Automation or scaling of electrical or software procedures on vehicle.
- Opened and closed loop control systems for sensors, actuators, body controller, ECUs, etc.
- CAN-Bus, LIN, and Ethernet communication protocol.
- Comfortable working with low voltage and high voltage systems.
- Excellent knowledge of communication protocols (E.G., ISO 11898, ISO 15765, ISO 14229, SAE J1979).
- Proficient using diagnostic tools and testing tools, including Vector tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, etc.), oscilloscopes, multimeters, and more.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone processes to diagnose complex issues.
- Knowledge of industry standards, such as FMVSSS, NHTSA, DOT, NFPA, SAE, NEC, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
- Highly adaptable and proactive, excelling in fast-paced start-up and new model launch environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to travel domestically (up to 50%). Travel sites will include the assembly plant, marketing events, and test trips.
- Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Must have the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
