Who we are looking for:
The EHSS Manager, Plant Operations is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs within the automotive manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with all relevant regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and drives continuous improvement in EHSS performance.

- Develop and Implement EHSS Programs: Create and manage comprehensive EHSS programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver EHSS training programs to employees at all levels, ensuring awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into EHSS incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in EHSS practices, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and reports related to EHSS activities, incidents, and compliance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with operations, maintenance, security, and other departments to integrate EHSS considerations into all aspects of manufacturing processes.
- Occupational Health: Oversee occupational health clinic operations ensuring all company employees receive the highest quality of care across plant operations.
- Leadership Reporting: Provide clean and effective reporting on EHSS performance across operations and ensure integration of key leading metrics within responsible departments.
What you bring to the team:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field. Advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in EHSS management within a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
- Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of EHSS regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to analyze data and implement effective solution.
- Proficiency in EHSS software and tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Working Conditions and Environment:
- This position is a combination of office work and regular engagement with the manufacturing floor operations to drive critical issues home and support progress.
- Must have the ability to travel, both domestic and international (up to 25%).
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Must have the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Must have the ability to conduct site inspections and investigations, which may involve physical activity.
