Who we are looking for:
The EHSS Specialist, Training is responsible for developing, organizing, and delivering Environmental, Health, Safety, & Security (EHSS) training content tailored to manufacturing operations. This role ensures that team members — from new hires to experienced operators — receive the knowledge and tools necessary to work safely and in compliance with regulatory and company standards. A key focus of this role is the creation of engaging, digital learning content and the effective use of learning management systems (LMS) to support scalable training delivery.
What you get to do:
- Training Content Development: Design and assemble EHSS training materials specific to manufacturing roles, tasks, and hazards, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Digital Learning Design: Develop interactive online training modules using eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia), incorporating multimedia, quizzes, and simulations to enhance learner engagement.
- New Hire Orientation: Lead the EHSS portion of new hire onboarding, ensuring all employees receive foundational safety training before entering operational areas.
- Job-Specific Training: Create and deliver targeted training modules for specific roles, tasks, or equipment, incorporating ergonomic, chemical, and physical hazard considerations.
- Training Delivery: Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions across shifts and locations, using a variety of instructional methods to maximize engagement and retention.
- Program Management: Maintain a structured training calendar and ensure timely delivery of required training across all manufacturing sites.
- Compliance & Documentation: Track training completion, maintain accurate training records, and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory training requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and incident trends. Continuously improve content and delivery methods based on findings.
- Collaboration: Work closely with operations, HR, and EHSS team members to identify training needs and ensure alignment with broader safety initiatives.
- LMS Administration: Manage content within the learning management system, ensuring proper course assignment, tracking, and reporting of training metrics.
What you bring to the team:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Education, Instructional Design, or a related field. Advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in EHSS training or safety program development, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Certifications: Training certifications are preferred (e.g., OSHA Outreach Trainer, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of EHSS regulations and manufacturing safety practices.
- Experience developing and delivering both in-person and digital training content.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt training to various learning styles.
- Proficiency in eLearning development tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, etc.) and LMS platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Working Conditions and Environment:
- This position is primarily office-based, with regular presence on the manufacturing floor to assess training needs and deliver hands-on instruction.
- Must have the ability to travel, both domestic and international (up to 25%).
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Must have the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
