Who we are looking for:
Slate is looking for an energetic, organized, and experienced Body Closures Design/Release Engineer to join our growing team. The DRE will be responsible for design and development of the body closures and related mechanisms across the organization.
What you get to do:
- Be an integral part of an energetic team that’s challenging the status quo of vehicle design.
- Responsible for design and development of body closures and assemblies.
- Develop and implement functional objectives to meet project performance targets.
- Manage all aspects of exterior component development to meet project requirements including performance, cost, mass, timing, manufacturability, etc.
- collaboration between internal/external teams and suppliers to meet all project requirements.
What you bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university
- 8+ years of vehicle design experience in the areas of body closures and mechanisms.
- Knowledge of design considerations required; injection molding, die castings, stampings.
- Proven communication and team building skills.
- Broad knowledge of NHSTA/FMVSS requirements related to body closures.
- Ability and Desire work in a fun and fast-paced environment
