| WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Technical & Service Manager, (Show Vehicle & Prototype) to support the design, build, maintenance, and on-site operation of picture vehicles for creative, social media, and experiential productions. This role requires a unique blend of mechanical expertise, organizational precision, service technician management and experiential and media production, and hands-on experience with both standard and prototype vehicles. Candidates must be comfortable working in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments while maintaining the highest standards of quality, continuity, and safety.

| WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and modifications on marketing vehicles—including cosmetic, powertrain, electrical, and suspension systems.
  • Grow, schedule and manage a team of marketing vehicle service technicians.
  • Build standard operating procedures for vehicle service and evaluation and care.
  • Interpret creative briefs and build specs to fabricate and adapt vehicles to match campaign direction, continuity, or performance requirements.
  • Manage multiple vehicle projects simultaneously, tracking progress, parts inventory, documentation, and deadlines.
  • Maintain detailed service logs and ensure all vehicles meet safety and quality standards.
  • Provide mechanical support during shoots and live activations, including on-site troubleshooting and emergency repairs.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, commercial, and engineering teams.
  • Safely operate, load, and transport vehicles while adhering to DOT regulations and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a high level of visual and mechanical detail to ensure vehicles are camera-ready and brand accurate.

| WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Valid Michigan Automotive Technician License or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • ASE Certification A1–A8, ASE Master certification or Master certification through OEM preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience as a service manager, automotive technician, custom builder, or prototype fabricator.
  • Experience with concept, prototype, or pre-production vehicles is strongly preferred.
  • Prior work supporting commercial, social media, or experiential campaigns is a plus.
  • Strong diagnostic capabilities including modern vehicle systems (CAN bus, drive-by-wire, etc.).
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within cross-functional creative teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% for shoots, events, and vehicle logistics.

| WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • Fast-paced production and shop environments.
  • Physical work including lifting, crawling under vehicles, and working outdoors in various conditions.
  • Extended hours, evenings, and weekends may be required during production periods.
