Sr Full Stack Software Engineer

As the most trusted name in sleep health, we make better sleep possible with proven support, clear answers, and hands-on care that fits real life. Across our brands - SleepDoctor.com, SleepFoundation.org, and SleepApnea.org - we combine clinical expertise with consumer-first experiences to help people understand their sleep, tackle real challenges, and wake up to healthier, more energized lives. If you’re passionate about making better sleep possible - and want to help reshape the future of sleep care - we’d love to meet you.
About the Role
As a senior full-stack software engineer, you will report directly to the CTO and play an integral role as part of our Care Discovery team. In that capacity, you’ll create a close partnership with product and design teams to build and execute on a roadmap to help those who seek better sleep. The ideal candidate embraces AI-assisted coding tools and workflows as a core part of their daily practice - not as an afterthought - and brings a disciplined, methodical approach to shipping reliable, well-structured code. This role spans front-end and back-end work across our stack, with meaningful involvement in Shopify-based commerce development. You should be someone who moves fast with intention, leverages modern tooling to multiply your output, and takes pride in code that's both functional and maintainable. Beyond your individual contributions, we expect you to stay on the leading edge of emerging tools, frameworks, and AI capabilities — and to bring that knowledge back to the team through guidance, recommendations, and hands-on leadership that helps elevate how we all build.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in modern full-stack technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, React or similar front-end frameworks, Node.js, PHP, or equivalent back-end runtime).
- Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar - with a clear philosophy on when and how to leverage them effectively.
- Familiarity with Shopify development, including Liquid templating, the Storefront and Admin APIs, and ideally experience building or customizing Shopify apps or themes.
- Strong command of version control workflows (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and structured code review practices.
- Comfort working with common back-end technologies, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, as well as relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with analytics integrations (e.g. Google Analytics, MixPanel, etc.) and with A/B testing frameworks.
- A disciplined engineering mindset - consistent naming conventions, clear documentation habits, and a bias toward readable, well-organized code over clever shortcuts.
Nice to Have
- Experience with headless commerce architectures.
- Wordpress or other CMS platforms, ideally with an eye towards SEO and GEO.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering and integrating LLMs into product features.
- Background in e-commerce or health/wellness industries, especially with HIPAA experience.
