The material handler will play a key role in supporting the Slingshot Biosciences site in Emeryville CA, including both the Manufacturing and R&D department’s capacity to manage product, inventory and shipments both domestic and international.
This role reports into the Supervisor, Manufacturing.
Responsibilities- Preparing and sending out shipments using defined protocols along with the appropriate documentation filled out for both domestic and international shipments.
- Verifying product shipment. Ensuring products arrive with delivery to the correct person and on time including tracking, tracing, and updating the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Ensuring shipments and containers are packed, counted, loaded, and sealed.
- Communicating with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, and service providers including troubleshooting with the software vendor or mail carrier as needed.
- Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock
- Lead and drive cycle counts of materials in the warehouse
- Pull orders from inventory, deliver production materials and supplies where needed
- Inspect and maintain shipping and warehouse equipment and software.
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience in warehouse maintenance, inventory management, shipping, planning & scheduling.
- Experience in Inventory Management Software or ERP. Strong data entry and computer skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excited to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to multitask with good time management skills
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Able to lift 25lbs. Comfortable with standing for long periods of time
- High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Previous experience operating a forklift or pallet jack a plus
