The Director/Senior Director of Marketing at Slingshot Biosciences will report to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and is responsible for leading company-wide commercial marketing for Slingshot Biosciences. This position shapes and executes the overall marketing strategy in partnership with sales, executive and R&D teams. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for connecting marketing strategy to execution across functions including strategic planning, product development, customer segmentation, lead management, branding, digital, and all other marketing campaigns. You will apply a balanced blend of business expertise, strategic thinking, and marketing acumen to align marketing actions across the customer journey to drive revenue growth. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and lead a strategic vision to elevate awareness of Slingshot Biosciences, enhance its reputation, and reinforce its position as a pioneer in cell analysis with the first on-demand cell mimic controls.
  • Drive impactful marketing campaigns that build awareness of Slingshot Biosciences' offerings, guide customers through their buying journey, manage distributor relationships, generate qualified leads and drive direct ecommerce revenue. 
  • Provide leadership in defining, mapping, and documenting essential marketing campaign processes, lead triaging through sales operations, establishing standard practices for the team, and advising senior leadership on improvements to enhance scalability and efficiency. 
  • Oversee and optimize all internal and external communications, including social media, sales tools, marketing collateral, website content, etc.. 
  • Collaborate with executive and commercial leaders on strategic initiatives to improve marketing operations, streamline processes, and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Collaborate with internal scientific teams and external experts to design and execute experiments that generate compelling data to support and strengthen marketing claims. 
  • Conduct comprehensive pricing analysis by evaluating competitor data, internal costs, and market trends; provide strategic recommendations for pricing adjustments to enhance competitiveness and profitability 
  • Build, lead, and develop a talented marketing team aligned with the company's growth goals, while integrating best practices and coordinating closely with product, digital, and regional marketing teams. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of experience in marketing with a minimum of 5 years of experience in leading a global marketing team. 
  • MBA and experience in the Cell and Gene Therapy or Life Sciences markets preferred. 
  • Strong financial and business acumen; has strong analytical ability to work and understand the relationship between multiple business systems like Excel, SFDC, etc. 
  • Demonstrated track record of revenue growth, customer experience and market share growth. 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and executive presence with an ability to work with people at multiple levels both inside and outside of Slingshot Biosciences; can influence strongly cross-functionally within the organization, gaining buy-in and engagement. 
  • Excellent process orientation with a proven track record of leading sustainable change and continuous improvement. 
  • Both strategic and tactical capabilities, can analyze the market, competitors and company strengths and weaknesses, create winning marketing strategies and be hands-on and help execution at detailed level when targets are missed.
 
Our salary ranges are calculated by role and level. Your position within that range will be determined by your job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, and training/certifications. In addition to those factors, we also examine internal equity as well as consider current market rate, and title may be assessed one level lower or higher accordingly. After you join the company your performance, contributions, and results along with business and organizational needs will affect your base salary. The base salary range for this full-time position is between $170,000 - $200,000 + equity + benefits.
