Senior Manager, Quality

Location: Emeryville, CA. This position is hybrid, with 3-4 days on-site per week.
Position Summary
This is a hands-on Quality leadership role in a dynamic start-up environment. The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of Quality Systems with the ability to be both strategic and tactical, ensuring Slingshot’s products and services consistently meet customer, regulatory, and internal standards. We seek a leader that fosters a company-wide culture of Quality, compliance, and data driven continuous improvement
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Quality function and set the direction for Quality initiatives in alignment with company goals
- Serve as the company’s Quality subject matter expert, providing guidance to cross-functional teams
- Own and expand the QMS to support ISO 13485, CAP/CLIA and other relevant standards for Manufacturing and CRO compliance
- Drive internal and external audit readiness.Serve as primary liaison during inspections, audits, and certification processes
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure supplier qualification, incoming inspection, and in-process controls are executed effectively
- Lead Quality investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive actions
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes impacting company operations and products
- Own and expand KPIs, metrics, and dashboards to measure performance and identify areas for improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in Quality within biotechnology, contract research organizations, medical device, diagnostics, or life sciences manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA QSR, and cGMP
- Demonstrated success leading Quality teams and scaling QMS in a high-growth environment
- Hands-on experience with audits, supplier Quality, and regulatory inspections
- Prior experience with flow cytometry methods, QC, or service operations is highly desirable
