The HR Business Partner – Talent & Development plays a key role in driving SMA America’s growth by attracting, developing, and retaining top talent. While this role partners across all core HR functions, a primary focus will be on Talent Acquisition, Recruiting Strategy, and Onboarding Excellence.
You’ll work closely with leaders and employees to align hiring and development strategies with business priorities, support a world-class candidate and employee experience, and foster a culture of continuous learning and high performance.

PRIMARY DUTIES
HR Business Partnering
- Partner with management to identify current and future talent needs, aligning people initiatives with business priorities.
- Partner cross-functionally to support company-wide initiatives related to DEI, engagement, and leadership development.
Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus)
- Partner with leaders to define role requirements and develop recruiting plans that attract top talent.
- Leverage innovative sourcing methods to build strong candidate pipelines, including employer branding and campus partnerships.
- Ensure a high-quality candidate experience through process excellence, timely communication, and inclusive practices.
- Track and analyze recruiting metrics to optimize effectiveness and hiring outcomes.
Learning & Development
- Design and deliver scalable learning solutions aligned with business goals and employee growth needs.
- Lead the execution of key development programs, including leadership training, performance management, personality assessments, and internal workshops.
- Collaborate with managers to build individual development plans and team capability strategies.
- Facilitate feedback loops and training assessments to ensure program effectiveness and continuous improvement.
- Support the development of succession and high-potential pipelines through targeted learning initiatives.
Core HR Responsibilities
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes in partnership with HR operations and hiring managers.
- Support compliance efforts with employment laws, SMA policies, and internal audits.
- Coordinate leave of absence cases (FMLA, STD, LTD) and return-to-work planning.
- Maintains the HRIS database and updates all applicable employee information, as necessary
- Assists with the maintenance of all relevant personnel documentation.
- Contribute to HR process improvement, documentation, and policy evolution as part of the HR team
REQUIRED TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL EXPEREINCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience with strong hands-on expertise in recruiting and onboarding.
- Experience with HRIS and ATS systems preferred.
- Knowledge of employment law and compliance best practices.
- Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Salary Range: $82,000–$91,000 per year (based on experience)
