Temporary Transportation Analyst, 3 Month Assignment
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Temporary Transportation Analyst supports SMA America’s Transportation team for a defined assignment of approximately three months. This role keeps freight analysis, carrier performance reporting, and shipment data accurate and on schedule, helping the team move inverters and components to customers across the United States reliably and cost effectively.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze freight costs, carrier rates, and shipment data to identify savings and trends.
- Audit and reconcile carrier invoices against quotes, contracts, and shipment records.
- Maintain accurate shipment and freight data in SAP and the transportation management system.
- Prepare weekly and month end reports on freight spend, carrier performance, and on time delivery.
- Support Transportation Coordinators with rate quotes, carrier selection, and shipment issue resolution.
- Track open shipments and escalate delays or exceptions to the appropriate teams.
- Collaborate with Logistics, Customer Service, Finance, and carrier partners to resolve billing and delivery issues.
- Other duties as may be required or assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation, freight, or logistics analysis.
- Experience with freight invoice auditing, carrier rates, and LTL and FTL shipping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups, plus Word and Outlook.
- Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system, and a transportation management system.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage month end deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication with internal teams and carrier partners.
- Availability to work core business hours, Pacific time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in manufacturing, energy, or industrial equipment shipping.
- Familiarity with customs documentation and cross border shipments.
WE OFFER
- Pay: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.
- Assignment: Temporary, full time, approximately three months from the start date.
- Employment: This assignment is through our staffing partner, AppleOne, which serves as the employer of record.
- Work Model: Remote within the United States.
