Reports to: EVP, Partnerships.

Experience Required: At least 3 years of business development and operating experience, or equivalent.

Salary Range: $75-90K, OTE $110-$130K. 

Supervisory/Training Responsibilities: This role does not supervise/manage others.  This is an Individual Contributor role.

Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM ET

Job Overview

As Business Development Manager-Retail, Your focus will be on the acquisition and development of third-party Retailer partnerships by scaling our Retailer Network through business development.

 

More About the Role:

This role will support the Partnerships, Retailer/Data Acquisition and Digital Coupon parts of the business. You focus will be to acquire and maintain retail partnerships.

  • Finally, you enjoy building alliances and introducing new product lines (i.e., Coupon Bureau); you like to experiment with new tech and methods to further develop our internal processes in ways that we may not have explored before.  You take things in stride and keep a positive outlook while driving to be successful.

 

Some of your Key Responsibilities will Include:

  • Scale a rapidly growing part of the business- You are an entrepreneur with a collaborative mindset.
  • Lead the outreach process and follow up with retail prospects- follow-through is your middle name.  (Bonus points if it really is!)
  • Lead exploratory discussions with prospective partners to determine market fit, size, and readiness to support the SmartCommerce product offering.
  • Work cross-functionally and serve as the liaison between our partners, brand and agency leadership, product, operations, and other functional teams.
  • Manage pipelines of targeted retail partners.
  • Communicate and report on successes and obstacles to overcome.
  • Nurture and grow existing partnerships. 

 

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • You have a minimum of 3-5 years of business development and operating experience, or equivalent.
  • You have experience with executive clients at retailers, selling and/or building solutions.
  • You are comfortable helping to lead complex contract negotiations.
  • You have the ability to lead analysis-driven negotiation processes and have proven closing skills (internal or external).
  • You have a familiarity with structuring partnerships on behalf of or with Martech or Adtech platforms.
  • You have analytical and quantitative skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • You can operate in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
