What You’ll Do...

As the Marketing Operations Manager at Smartly, you’ll play a critical role in the marketing team’s success, ensuring that our campaigns run smoothly, efficiently, and effectively. Here’s what that looks like:

Platform Operations:

  • Own the Marketo instance by designing, managing, and optimizing configurations, performance, and scalability to ensure it aligns with evolving business needs.
  • Serve as the go-to Marketo expert, advising on best practices, and providing hands-on support for campaign execution.
  • Own the marketing technology stack beyond Marketo, identifying and implementing new tools and integrations, ensuring proper alignment with our goals.
  • Implement and maintain data governance best practices, ensuring data quality and accuracy in key systems. Lead ongoing database hygiene efforts, enrichment, segmentation, and data analysis.

Lead Lifecycle Management:

  • Take full ownership of the lead lifecycle from lead creation to MQL (Marketing Qualified Lead), DAL (SDR Accepted Lead), DQL (SDR Qualified Lead), and SAL (Sales Accepted Lead).
  • Ensure smooth handoffs and alignment between marketing and sales teams, ensuring timely lead routing, accurate MQL qualification, and optimizing the lead flow.
  • Lead the optimization of lead scoring models to better qualify prospects and enhance the conversion process across the funnel.
  • Create and manage Marketo forms and campaigns that support marketing initiatives and drive leads to the next stage.

Process Optimization, Cross-functional Collaboration & Project Management:

  • Prioritize, manage, and execute multiple marketing operations projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery across different regions and teams.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline workflows, processes, and systems to maximize marketing performance and reduce operational friction.
  • Lead change management initiatives by documenting internal processes and establishing communication strategies to ensure smooth implementation of new tools and seamless adoption of new processes.
  • Partner with Sales Operations on integrations and data flow between Marketo, Salesforce, and other sales tools.
  • Collaborate with various teams (content, event marketing, paid media, SDRs) to implement end-to-end processes and workflows that support their initiatives.
  • Act as a problem solver for marketing technology issues, troubleshooting technical glitches and optimizing performance across all platforms.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has...

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in marketing operations (preferably B2B SaaS), with at least 2 years of Marketo administration expertise. Marketo certification required.
  • Deep proficiency in Marketo and marketing automation tools and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce). Experience with Marketo Measure (Bizible) and/or other marketing attribution platforms is a huge plus.
  • Self-starter, and someone who thrives in an environment of juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills: You can analyze marketing data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve campaign performance.
  • Project management skills: Ability to manage your own complex projects and prioritize based on business impact.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills: You excel in a cross-functional, team-based environment and have the ability to bridge gaps between marketing, sales, and IT teams.
  • Bonus points for experience with:
    • Lead routing tools like RingLead or similar.
    • Reporting tools like Google Analytics, Tableau, or Datorama.
    • Experience in setting up and optimizing ABM (Account-Based Marketing) or similar high-value account initiatives.
