Sr. SEO Content Strategist II - Demand Generation (Remote Eligible)

The Smartsheet Demand Generation team is seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Sr. SEO Content Strategist II to help lead our global SEO strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for driving organic search performance, managing SEO initiatives, and collaborating across teams to create content that ranks highly and resonates with our target audience. You will play a critical role in enhancing Smartsheet’s visibility, improving website traffic, and increasing trial conversions.

This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will lead efforts in keyword research, content optimization, and performance reporting, while staying ahead of industry trends, including generative AI advancements, to ensure Smartsheet’s SEO strategies remain cutting-edge. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align SEO goals with broader business objectives.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Demand Generation and can be based in our Bellevue, WA office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.

You Will:

  • Help to define and execute Smartsheet’s global SEO strategy.
  • Conduct comprehensive opportunity analyses, including keyword research, query intent mapping, competitive assessments, and SERP landscape evaluations, to prioritize initiatives that drive traffic and conversions.
  • Develop content briefs for writers that include target queries, user intent, formatting guidelines, and SEO best practices to ensure high-ranking and engaging content.
  • Optimize meta tags, headlines, and on-page elements to improve rankings and click-through rates (CTR).
  • Perform ongoing analysis of published content, identifying opportunities for updates or enhancements to improve rankings, engagement, and conversions.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, including generative AI tools and technologies, to proactively adapt strategies and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external content creators, including writers, editors, and agencies, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality SEO content.
  • Improve page engagement and conversion rates by optimizing on-page elements to drive key actions, including content downloads, video views, and trial sign-ups to signal relevance to search engines.
  • Support other duties as needed.

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience in SEO or content strategy, including managing complex editorial workflows and cross-functional projects.
  • Proven track record of driving organic growth.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and refining content briefs that align with SEO strategies and user intent.
  • Experience analyzing engagement metrics (e.g., bounce rate, time on page, CTR) and applying insights to optimize content.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and technologies, with a focus on applying these innovations to streamline content creation and optimization workflows.
  • Proficiency with SEO tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs to conduct research and analyze performance.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience translating data into actionable strategies that achieve measurable business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate complex strategies to stakeholders of all levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity.

US Pay Range

$120,000 - $157,500 USD
