Senior Software Engineer II - Full Stack - Dashboards

Our team builds a world-class customizable canvas that is made up of easy to configure widgets - building blocks for dashboards that allows users to quickly and intuitively consolidate, summarize, share and present real time data from various sources with peers and key stakeholders both within and outside their organization, thereby making Smartsheet one of the most advanced data visualization and consolidation platforms available in the market
You will report to our Engineering Leader located in our Bellevue, WA office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.
You Will:
- Build Scalable Distributed Services: Develop scalable and efficient services for the next generation of applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Solve Complex Distributed Systems Problems: Address challenging distributed systems issues and leverage modern cloud infrastructure, including AWS and Kubernetes.
- Deep Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of multiple technology areas. Identify and propose improvements to existing implementations, and effectively review and recommend technologies for complex systems.
- Lead Code Reviews and Architectural Discussions: Collaborate with other software engineers and product managers to lead code reviews and participate in architectural discussions.
- Mentor and Guide Team Members: Provide mentorship in design, coding, and testing. Contribute to the improvement of coding styles and design patterns within the team.
- Have a deep understanding of multiple technology areas. Identifies and proposes improvements to existing implementation. Can effectively review and recommend technology for complex systems.
- Collaborate with Product Management: Forge strong partnerships with product management and other key areas of the business to align technical solutions with business goals.
You Have:
- 7+ years software development experience building highly scalable, highly available applications
- 7+ years of programming experience with full stack technologies such Java, Kotlin or TypeScript
- 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Experience developing, documenting, and supporting REST APIs
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity.
US Base Salary Pay Range
$170,000 - $240,000 USD
