
Senior Auditor

You are a passionate audit professional with demonstrated technical and financial auditing skills and experience working for a SaaS company. You will understand all forms of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and how they address the risks within our IT and business processes. You will test SOX controls and provide feedback to control owners on the design and implementation of these controls. You will also be provided with the opportunity to assess new technologies and advise on relevant SOX controls to be implemented. You will also support other operational related audits to help Smartsheet better understand areas of the business that have been identified as higher risk.
This role will be reporting to the Director of Internal Audit and will work at our Smartsheet office in San Jose, Costa Rica.
You Will:
- Participate in internal audit engagement planning, reporting, scoping, execution and follow-up.
- Act as central liaison between external audit and the business for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) field work, manage projects to maximize productivity of audit and minimize impact to the business
- Establish and lead workstreams to ensure SOX tasks, including control documentation, are maintained and completed timely
- Perform testing of business process and IT controls, including obtaining, analyzing, and evaluating accounting and IT documentation, reports, data, flowcharts, etc.
- Leverage previous SOX experience and be an expert on topics such as information produced by entity / key reports, entity-level controls, and other audit considerations
- Establish processes to communicate internal control gaps to relevant parties and manage remediation to closure.
- Evaluate automated information processing systems, related non-automated processes and the interfaces among them.
- Other duties as assigned.
You Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, Engineering or related field
- CPA/CISA/CIA (or actively working towards it) preferred
- 5 years working experience in internal audit, accounting, IT or related fields.
- Experience working for a public company or a public accounting firm.
- Familiarity with COSO, SOX and US GAAP requirements.
- Experience working as a part of a team and also working with independent responsibilities.
- Familiarity with SaaS systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Coupa is a plus.
