Temporary Quality Specialist

Position Overview: 

SmartyPants is looking for a motivated, dedicated, and detail-oriented individual for the position at a leading CPG start-up brand in preventative health.  This role is great for someone interested in learning more about the dietary supplement industry as it relates to Quality Assurance. What’s great about this role is you’ll be given one on one training and have the resources to ensure your success.  The work done in this role helps to ensure we continue to output premium quality in all our products.  

What You’ll Do: 

  • Conduct the day-to-day activities of the SmartyPants Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance with Regulations and SOPs. This may include: 
  • Create and issue component, formula and finished good specifications 
  • Create or revise SOPs as required 
  • Change Control management 
  • Product lot release review and documentation 
  • Perform artwork review for QA 
  • Assist with contract service provider communications and meetings as required 
  • All other job-related duties as requested 

What You Have: 

  • A High School Diploma and at least 4 years of progressive Quality advancement within a GMP regulated industry; OR a Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Discipline such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, microbiology, etc. and at least 1 year of Quality experience within a GMP regulated industry. 
  • Must have working knowledge of dietary supplement and/or food cGMPs  
  • Knowledge of 21 CFR 111  
  • Experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Risk Management is preferred.  
  • Experience partnering with R&D, Operations, and CSPs is preferred.  
  • Must have a solid working knowledge of standard business software packages (Microsoft) 
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize assignments with a focus on internal and external customer service.  
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work cooperatively in diverse teams and peer relationships. 
  • Consistently demonstrates professional, positive, and approachable attitude/demeanor. 

What you’ll get: 

The pay range for this position is $32.00/hr to $40.00/hr. SmartyPants Vitamins takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. This position is a temporary position for a duration of 3 months with the possibility to extend into 2025 and is not eligible for benefits outside of those provided under state/local benefit programs.
