As part of the Health & Wellbeing Collective, we are building an operational platform to support companies in the Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements (VMS) space called the VMS Co-Op. The VMS Co-Op will host OLLY and SmartyPants and will grow to include other VMS companies and future acquisitions as well.

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director Regulatory Affairs, the Stability Manager is responsible for ensuring that the SmartyPants and OLLY stability programs are compliantly executed to support shelf life for commercial product according to regulations, guidances, and internal procedures. This role will focus heavily on reviewing stability reports and creating stability protocols, stability conclusions, regression analyses, and shelf-life justification documents. You will also support stability investigations as needed. The Stability Manager reports directly to the Director Regulatory Affairs and is part of the Quality and Regulatory Team.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee annual stability study program responsibilities for all commercialized products.
- Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs, PD, and QA Stability Managers to create real-time stability protocols for new and annual studies.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure product samples are appropriately tracked, pulled, and sent to the appropriate labs.
- Act as the liaison for contract labs to ensure studies are initiated, samples are tested according to the testing interval, and results are reviewed in a timely manner against protocol requirements.
- Resolve outstanding issues with contract labs related to delays, discrepancies, and lab errors.
- Maintain a highly organized stability database with COAs for all completed and ongoing stability studies.
- Compile stability data and author stability conclusions to support stability shelf life.
- Execute complex stability data assessments that include statistical regression analysis, extrapolation, and release limit estimates.
- Partner with OLLY PD/Unilever HWC to recommend analytical testing methodologies based on data quality and historical application.
- Provide stability-related feedback for change controls; track and manage the execution of change control stability tasks.
- Lead stability out-of-specification investigations, generate investigational reports, and implement corrective/preventive action activities as needed.
- Elevate issues requiring attention to the Regulatory Affairs Director and/or VP VMS QA and RA.
- Maintain a high-level knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry best practices, stability management, and data analysis.
What You Have:
- 6-8 years of experience managing stability programs in a GMP environment, ideally for dietary supplements in the US.
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, food sciences, or another closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of technical writing experience, ideally including data visualization.
- Must have a strong understanding of regression analysis and industry guidelines related to stability data analysis requirements.
- Understanding of ICH guidelines, CFR regulations, and other global standards that apply to dietary supplement stability.
- Strong organizational and data management skills with a focus on consistency, quality, and order.
- Working knowledge of dietary ingredients, analytical methods, and ingredient degradation characteristics.
- Strong project and task management skills; experience owning larger-scale projects from initiation to successful completion.
- The ability to work independently and carry out responsibilities accurately and efficiently.
- The ability to multi-task and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

The pay range for this position is $105,000 to $125,000. SmartyPants Vitamins takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. This position is bonus eligible. SmartyPants Vitamins employees are eligible to participate in our benefits plan. Should the employee choose to participate, they can choose from a range of benefits to include, but is not limited to, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, sick leave, paid vacation and holidays. Any coverages for health insurance will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans and associated governing plan documents.

- Round 1: Conversation with the Hiring Manager + 1-2 conversations with other Smarty’s on the team
- Round 2: 2-3 conversations with team or cross functional Smarty’s
- Final Round: Homework*

Office Environment:
SmartyPants is a fast-moving and mission-driven company that values transparency, excellence, and transformation. This role operates on a hybrid schedule, with in-office presence required twice a month at the end of each month. The remaining workdays are remote.
