Pay & Schedule: $17/hour, 40 hours/week

The SMCP Group is a combination of two Contemporary Luxury Ready-To-Wear brands for Women / Men:  Sandro + Maje.  The North America business unit's corporate office has been located in NYC since 2011.  Over the past 11 years, we have grown to over 168 points of distribution across the US + Canada in addition to our online business.

Our Corporate Internship is based out of our NYC Corporate office. We are currently seeking a Learning & Development Intern who will be responsible for effectively supporting all learning & development and general HR efforts for the HQ population.

This is a paid internship. Start date is August 2025, and candidates must be available to work in our New York City HQ office, 3 days/week till mid-December.

What You'll Be Doing:

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

Learning & Development

  • Maintain HQ Training tracker for global reporting purposes.
  • Create internal communications related to internal surveys, learning & development opportunities, and training requests.
  • Research competencies relevant for a corporate learning & development program.
  • Create and produce reports from internal performance management database utilizing Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Assist in the creation of resources such as worksheets, videos, step-by-step guides, etc. to support the HQ population and more specifically, our people managers.  
  • Support performance review campaigns by collecting training requests, sending reminders, and ensuring compliance.
  • Maintain internal calendars (learning & development, DEI initiatives, performance management cycle, etc.).

General HR

  • Maintain an up-to-date portfolio of job descriptions for HQ population.
  • Ensure the proper continuity of the SMCP onboarding program (i.e. equipment requests, orientation scheduled, update new hire guide, distribute new hire kits).
  • Ensure compliance with all internal exit procedures (i.e. removed from HRIS, exit interview conducted, company property collected).
  • Audit HRIS database, monthly.
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects as needed to support the HR team.

Who You Are:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Able to handle multiple tasks in an organized manner; prioritize and meet deadlines, concurrently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest within the learning & development functions of Human Resources
