What We Are Looking For

This position is based in the New York City office and is responsible for leading the Marketing, Events and PR strategy for Maje in North America. The role oversees all brand communications across channels to build brand awareness and desirability, uphold brand DNA in the North American market, and drive traffic to all channels, while maintaining close alignment with Paris HQ.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and execute seasonal communications strategies and calendars to build brand awareness & strengthen Maje market position.
  • Work closely with Paris HQ and cross functional North America teams to ensure full 360 alignment on brand strategy, content and activation.
  • Maintain and manage the seasonal communications and marketing budget.

Digital Marketing

  • Support digital marketing campaigns in close partnership with media partners, influencers, and the global digital team to ensure content alignment and KPI delivery.
  • Increase brand awareness and desirability through a thoughtful and modern influencer strategy targeted to new and existing audiences.
  • Research, identify and engage influencers across platforms and collaborate on original brand appropriate content.
  • Develop and maintain influencer documentation, segmentation and performance tracking including organic results.
  • Partnership with CRM on brand storytelling, email copy & marketing materials
  • Partner with CRM to plan email cadences supporting campaigns, launches, client acquisition, retention, prospecting and retargeting.
  • Oversee and manage the PR Coordinator on sample trafficking and influencer support.
  • Monitor and report social performance on a monthly, quarterly, and campaign basis.
  • Manage internal and external communication to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and on strategy.

Retail Marketing

  • Create and implement fully integrated marketing strategies including media, brand events, retail activations and clienteling.
  • Develop innovative programs to increase brand awareness, client acquisition and traffic across retail stores, ecommerce and pop-ups.
  • Manage seasonal by door marketing and event plans across more than 150 points of sale and oversee the marketing calendar.
  • Support department store exposure through events, pop ups, digital coverage and promotions.
  • Collaborate with New York and Paris HQ teams including Creative, Ecommerce, Visual and Merchandising to deliver collateral and communicate program details.
  • Track seasonal and initiative performance year over year and deliver comprehensive recaps and growth insights.
  • Manage existing retail marketing programs including Retail Events Toolbox, Clienteling Toolkit and Tailoring Program.

Special Events

  • Support Brand Communications teams, PR agency partners and external agencies in planning and executing special events.
  • Create event overviews and detailed recaps for internal teams and Paris HQ.

Partnerships

  • Evaluate and manage brand partnerships including media, department stores and mall marketing teams to ensure brand standards are upheld.
  • Develop elevated collaborations with like-minded brands through exclusive products, cross promotions and in-store activations.

Public Relations and Communications

  • Develop and pitch all North American press communications including press releases and media pitches.
  • Adapt global press materials to North American needs while ensuring alignment with Paris HQ.
  • Oversee interview preparation and briefing materials for executives, creative leadership and spokespeople.
  • Actively secure media coverage across traditional and non-traditional platforms and provide measurable recap reporting to global teams.
  • Manage VIP and PR agencies and secure attendance for seasonal press days.

Advertising

  • Support lease required advertising and value-added programming.
  • Partner with agencies to secure seasonal print, digital and out-of-home advertising placements.

PRINCIPAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6-8+ years of experience in retail marketing, digital media, PR, VIP, celebrity and event management, preferably within luxury and fashion.
  • Strong editorial and media relationships and in-house PR experience.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong understanding of luxury and fashion culture.
  • 360 activation capability across digital, retail, events and PR.
  • Highly motivated, hands on and proactive with a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced creative environment.
